Folks in Europe were anti-Bush four years ago, but when he was re-
elected, 80% of Europeans(*) lost much of their sympathy with the
U.S. . Apathy may be a reason, but not an excuse.
* I do not have the exact sources handy, but I do remember this being
pretty big news right after the elctions, based on the results on
various inqueries in a bunch of countries.
