If you have a bootable Classic Mac, that's easy to fix. Simply drag
either the Finder or System suitcase out of the System folder, and put
it back. Always worked for me...

Sadly, this is probably the more likely. Good side is that if you can
make a new one, it will read, as it will be made on the misaligned
drive. Of course, all this requires some way to boot the guy. He's
very old... :-(
I know this, if my PowerWave's hard drive died, I would probably be sunk.
