[NTLK] How to test dongle?

Hi there,

I'm new to Newtontalk.

My Name ist Birger and im living in Bonn / Germany.

I'm a newton owner for two weeks now, and I have some Problems to connect
it to my Mac or PC.
I have a serial dongle to DIN-8 serial connectors and build a cable to
connect to my PC using the 9-Pin serial connector.
I've used this instruction http://www.jneuhaus.com/applserl.html but I
can't connect to my PC.

I'm now in doubt if my dongle is broken.

Is there a way to check that dongle?
