Frank,

You aren't alone. I've had numerous problems with Panasonic drives in my
Pismo's; However I've never had any problems with the drives in the
Lombards.
What you describe sounds exactly like the problems that I've had.

I've got a Pismo sitting here that I no longer use with a working drive in
it. I'm not sure what It'd cost to ship it to Germany, and I'm currently
very very broke. but perhaps we can work something out?

Blake.
