I have a "white" one too, but it sure looks "blue" to me.
I find myself using "scratchy" my parts Newton, way more often. He sports a green backlit, scratched, and even broken screen. (the glass is cracked way up in the corner. Hard to notice.) "scratchy" is even with me here at work today.

I've had the white one put in by Frank Gruendel of this list (Tim refers to
him; see <http://www.pda-soft.de/>)and I'm happier than a cat with two
tails, as they say. I admit I still miss the green glow, but I have a Newt
with its original green still intact for when I get nostalgic. I went for
the white because I hoped for slightly better contrast -- important now that
my eyes aren't what they used to be. I've been happy with the choice. Try
to look at one first, to be sure you like it.
Shalom.
