You will need the Neo package from http://40hz.org/wiki/index.php/Neo. This
will implement, among other things, an IRDA OBEX stack. I have used this to
talk to Pocket PC's before. So if your unit can talk to an Ipaq (a pocket
PC) and Neo can talk to a Pocket PC, it should be able to talk to your HP.

Here's an odd question! I recently (for $6!) picked up an old HP 95LX
Palmtop, and am just figuring out what it can do. It has a built in IR port
that uses the HP SIR protocol, 2400bps only. (Is that the same as Sharp ASK
IR? I'm not sure.) Apparently it can do file exchange with some SIR
compatible devices, eg the Ipaq. But I'm wondering if it can do so with a
Newton as well. I suspect it might be easier with a Newton 1.x device... but
has anyone out there tried file exchange over IR with an HP 95LX (or other
HP palmtop)? An attempt this morning, putting the two boxes side by side and
following the instructions I found here on the "Palmtop Paper" site
failed...
