Thanks Marisa, however:
Inputing plus.pop.yahoo.com results in the following error:
Server error "-ERR popgate unknown command."
But I am with yahoo canada, so if Plus were available in Canada, it should be plus.pop.yahoo.ca, which results in this error when trying to get mail:
Couldn't resolve IP address "plus.pop.mail.yahoo.ca"
But, "Plus" is a paid service with yahoo for those in the US. I have a free Canadian account. So my address is pop.mail.yahoo.ca. When just the latter is entered into the pop server info in Owner Info, the ERR message comes up:
"-ERR popgate unknown command."
When appending the port number onto pop.mail.yahoo.ca, so it ends up being pop.mail.yahoo.ca:995:
...it connects to Yahoo, but nothing is downloaded. This makes sense here, because adding this port number means I am trying to access my mail with SSL, something the Newton cannot do. But my mission here is to access yahoo without using SSL, and as far as I know, the only way to do that is to drop the port number off the pop server address, which results in the error "-ERR popgate unknown command."
Any suggestions, anyone?
Thanks,
Ryan
PS: Gmail has proven to be a bag of smashed hammers so far, both IMAP and POP, on both Simple Mail and Mail V.
