Yep... same thing happened to me. I Suspect all v2.O Newtons suffer from the Y2009/Y2010 bug.
To stop it... Do a 30/30 reset.
Remove all batteries and power sources for 30 minutes. This includes the CR2032 button backup battery. Press and hold the recessed reset button on the bottom for for a full 30 seconds. Replace all batteries.
Your Newtons will boot normally but the date and time will reset to... Somewhere in the past, 1995 I think.
Do not set the date to any date after December 31, 2008 11:59 PM or else you'll be hosed... again.
Pray someone takes on the MP120 and MP130 Y2010 bug and fixes it.
