David,

I still have notes and contacts on my current MP2K1 from my first
MessagePad in 1995. Because of the astonishing (relative to other
platforms) robustness of data in any Newton, to capture something in
it is to preserve it, effectively for good.

This sort of quality makes a deep impression on those who use these
machines and it's one of the main reasons why any 'faithful'
technology becomes a friend and not just an appliance.
