Aha, it was "make it bmp" not "make it jpg" that was stuck in my mind. :)
I'm using Paint Shop Pro which appears to only want to make 256-shade
grayscale, will have to fiddle with it I guess to make it 16. The screen
sizes are landscape-ready-for-eMate, 370x310.

If you are making the book using Newton Press, on a Mac convert them to
pict, on a PC to a bmp. Then just import them. I would also recommend
resizing and converting to B & W for 130 and older, 16 grayscales for Emate,
2000 and 2100's while you were converting the file type.
