What you say makes sense, *except* that it doesn't happen to me, ever,
except in the circumstances I described in my previous post.

For example, my previous post went out at 08:57 BST (time in my time zone as
assigned by the server) and appeared back in my inbox on my computer (in
Entourage 2004 for Mac) at 09:08 BST, a delay of 9 minutes due in large part
because I didn't check again till then. Yours is the next message to the
list, which you sent at 12:15 BST and which I picked up at 12:50 BST when I
next checked my mail. And even your mail wasn't actually a reply to my

Point is, whatever you're describing isn't what happens to me. Anyone else?
And is this perhaps also a question of settings within Gmail or the
behaviour of ISPs or what? I'd love to really understand this.
