You know what, 2.x Newtons are a lot less secure than 1.x Newtons because there's a limited number of unique PINs you can assign to use. 1.x, on the other hand, allows you to use a password. So if you tried a brute force attack to break the security, 2.x would give up a lot earlier than 1.x. Of course it all depends on how much time you've got. :)
