I haven't tried recent opera versions but IIRC one of the lowendmac writers seems to like it as well because of its server side page compression to speed up dialup connections, anybody use that feature?

I heartily second Matej -- Opera is the bee's knees, at least it has been
with my Macs, and AFAIK you don't have to pay to be ad-free anymore, do you?
It's true that I was one of those who cashed in on the "10th anniversary
free registration party" back in 2005, but AFAIK they've dropped the
pay-to-register business altogether:
