Other than the 60,000 units sold in 1996 [1] that Gruber mentions in
one of his posts from last year [2], I haven't heard any specific
numbers.

However, there is a article from 2006 over at Roughly Drafted [3] that
does mention 100,000 units in the Newton's first year. I have no idea
where the author got that particular figure from.
