[NTLK] Newton to PowerBook IR connection possible?

I was wondering about this.

I've got a Newt 2100 and a G3 Series PowerBook running OS 9.2.

Obviously, I can transfer files using a serial cable connection and  
NCU, but I was wondering if, since they both have IR ports and  
transfer capability, is there some way to use NCU or something  
similar to connect and transfer files thru the IR ports?
