I have only switched mine during sleep and have not had a problem. Mine is
"upgraded homebrew" and I am *very* happy with it.

I am not defending Ferdy or anyone else but as afr as I know his workmanship
is good. I also believe tha the more sophisticated upgrade also required
soldering on the logic board. I did my own upgrade simply following
directions previously and did a good neat job.
As I have posted previously the only problem I have is when I reset if I am
in accelerated state my PCMCIA slot is sometimes ignored. I choose to switch
while in sleep and have had no other problems.

His name is Ferdi Ozguner, I believe. Some have had problems, others
haven't. He is first and foremost a businessman. Just know who you are
dealing with. I suggest you search the list archives and make your own
decision.

I'm 90% sure the upgrade will be a home-brew solder job. Someone
correct me on this if I am wrong. What I've been told is that with
this kind of upgrade you can switch the frequency when the operational
clock is completely out of phase with the new one. This can lead to
the cpu going into an unrecoverable state and needing a reset. Poll
the list to find out how often this happens. In fact, I'm not quite
sure how stable the original Implant-2000 board was either.

Maybe people who use the speed hacks, Implant or home-brew, could comment?
