A 4MB card will prove to be a better size, for the complete Y2010
updates (ROM Patches for all eMate's and 2x00's, including the German
2100). The 4MB card also has the extra space for NIE, Ethernet, WiFi,
and other important tools and stuff... To be included.
Keep in mind, you will want to do a Card Backup before applying the
patch... Just to be safe. If you only have a 2MB card AND a 4MB card,
you will want to keep the 4MB (for the Backup) and send me the 2MB
one. That way you have a card big enough for backing up your internal
store, prior to patching the ROM.
If you have (yet) another Linear card (other than the aforementioned
2MB or 4MB) to put a backup on, then send the 4MB. I'll turn your 4MB
card into a Lender Card. You can then leave the card "as is" (write
protected) and you'll be able to mail it on, to someone else in need.
I haven't tallied all the file sizes yet. I'm concerned that the 2MB
card can only be made into a Y2010 updater. It will contain all the
ROM patches and tools for patching the eMate, MP2000, MP2100, and the
German MP2100. But I'm guessing there will not be enough space for
everything else (NIE, Ethernet, WiFi, etc.) plus the ROM patches.
I'll send you my mailing address directly.
For mailing, use a small "padded/bubble" mailer and a folded piece of
cardboard. Place the card in the folded cardboard and place both into
the padded mailer. This will add extra safety for the USPS machine
processed mailing equipment. Linear cards are pretty sturdy and not
too suseptible to crushing damage. The padded envelope will add an
extra level of sturdiness.
