Very cool, Rick. I actually bought a *unused* Workpad last month. Note that
mine is the very first model produced. With a whopping 1mb of memory.

I have owned pretty much every Palm up until 2005. Starting with the Palm
Pilot Pro, up until my recent Ebay find of a Tungsten T3 and Clie TH55 (Best
Palm Ever!) I even developed some software for the III's, back in the good
old days of 1998.

As for your question...

You want to check out a good document reader like cspotrun. The Doc format
was very popular, back before you could actually put Word, PDF and other
stuff on Palms. You can read tons of classic, free novels on it like from
Project Gutenburg. I read War of the Worlds a dozen times on my old PPP...

Some other handy software is HackMaster. This is an app that allows you to
install 'hacks'; little plugins that do neat things. With HackMaster, you
can do things like rotate the screen, change the backlight polarity or get a
pop-up calculator.

You'll definitely want to check out PalmGear.com . The biggest Palm software
website. There was a great Asteroids game on there as well...

Happy tinkering!
