Newton's use of memory is very efficient, barely more than how many
bytes it takes to store the ASCII data; there are very few bytes of
overhead. So 1 to 2 bytes per character is close approximation.

E.g, I just opened a new note and the soup went up just 150 bytes.
Adding 300 characters took less than 400 bytes.
