Yep, that's the only difference.

You unsolder the old chips and solder the new chips to the board. The new
chips have a different size, but the mainboard is prepared for both types of
chips.
One of these days I'll give this a try. I'm not sure if my equipment is
sufficient for such an operation, but there's only one way to find out.
The larger chips are a bit hard to come by, but I have a box full of dead
2100 organ donator boards...
