As the page on 40hz.org states:

Patch.pkg - the actual patch.
ROMPatch.pkg, RExPatch.pkg - individual parts of the patch, not for installation (they can't be installed by themselves)
So don’t touch ROMPatch and RExPatch, you’ll need only Patch.pkg, as I said earlier.

Follow the steps at 40hz.org carefully so you won’t break your priceless Newt.
