The fact that it is touch sensitive suggests that the pen is active (meaning, the pen has its own electronics). If that is so, the touch screen can differentiate between finger and pen, which would allow the software to ignore fingers or hands while the pen is in close proximity.

But we will only know when we get our hands on that thing ;-)
