Hello,

Would the folks who still offer to recell MessagePad battery packs in the EU,
Canada, US, and anywhere else in the world recelling services happen to be on
offer please respond to this post with a brief summary of who you are, your
general geographical location, and the specific MessagePad models for which you
rebuild battery packs (e.g. MP1x0, MP2x00, and/or eMate)? Pricing information
would be useful, too, however, that can always be discussed in detail off-list.

There doesn't seem to be any sort of regularly maintained vendor list for
recelled packs anywhere, so this might be an opportune time to get such
information recorded. Likewise, vendor geographical information is useful in
helping prospective customers find the receller closest to them in the interests
of reducing the transit time and/or shipping costs for any purchases.

It seems to have been a while since recelled battery packs (and who was still
building them) were discussed on the list. Perhaps with the impending release
of a fairly impressive amount of used MP1x0, 2x00, and eMate hardware (and the
battery packs for same), the availability of recelled battery packs might take
on a sudden new importance?

If you happen to be handy with the type of implements it takes to recell a
battery pack (Garden Weasels, telefactors, spud wrenches, and the like), you
can, of course, always roll your own recelled packs using instructions found on
sites such as this one:

http://www.pda-soft.de/mp2k_battery_pack.html

and this one:

...to give just two examples (more are always welcome).

Best,

James Fraser
