When I started modeling them, I was using Autodesk Inventor (a very expensive piece of software) and I had a license to install it from my school. Since I've graduated, my license to run it has expired so I'm trying out FreeCAD. (I also switched from Windows to OS X, so I would have a tough time running Inventor even if I had a valid key). If this new package can open my old files, I'll be happy. It probably won't though -- trying to get those STL (open-format) files from the Inventor ones (closed-format) was a major PITA. I guess it'll give me a chance to do a better job the second time through. :)
