I'm going to be working with him today on this. All the information has
been a tremendous help when I thought, oh no.. there goes his xmas present.
And I did pay a good dollar since it was in pristine condition.
I always go to google and to forums. Thank you so much

If you could tell us a) what operating system you are running and b) what
type of ports you have available on the machine, that might go a long way
toward determining how simple or complex the process might be. :)

I don't know how often you update your computing gear, but having access to
older computer hardware is of some benefit in this case. I say this because
the eMate makes use of a serial port:

...something which hasn't been seen on new computers for quite some time
(though USB to serial adapters are available). Not to mention the fact that
present-day CPU's run at speeds that computing devices from the eMate's era
(late 1990's) can find difficult to keep up with, which is why Vladislav
Korotnev mentioned slowdown.exe earlier.

With any luck, the guides Mr. Korotnev linked to in his last post will help
walk you through things. If not, please post to the list with the
information requested and one of the more knowledgeable people might be able
to assist in taking you through the necessary steps.

Best,

James Fraser
