[NTLK] Using a Newton keyboard via Serial-USB adapter with a Mac or PC?

Is there a call for such a thing?

Let's get this straight, you want to be able to use a Newton keyboard on a Mac or PC? Umm, why?

If I could get the comm protocol for the Newton keyboard, I could make a thingie that would generate USB keyboard messages. No drivers necessary. But is there a need for such a thing?
