Te flash you'll get by "hacking" it is just the latest version of flash ever available for PowerPC (not the same version that Intel has now), but it makes the webpage think that it's up yo date. It works most of the time, though.
However, I have the same machine you've just bought and it's still a great machine for everyday use. The only thing you may have to do is search for old versions of some software. Also, it's a good idea to update the WebKit version ir you're going to use Safari. And it's by far more powerful than a G4 PowerBook, while you can still connect you Newton easily.
