It may well be. The real concern is if the hinge tensioning spring on the display ribbon side is scraping against the ribbon. you should stop using it until you are ready to repair it.
Looks daunting but not really difficult if you follow directions.
If you already own a soldering pencil and the necessary t8 and T10 wrenches and a newish small philips head screw driver you can probably do it.
Straightening the spring is difficult but doable.

I had never done one till I did my first. contact me off list if you want me to do it but make sure you consider the cost of shipping. Expect total cost to be about $55 with shipping both ways.
