I can't believe how common this is. Spam isn't killing email, IT departments are.

I used to see similar behaviour when I worked for Corbis. Fortunately, since I was on the web development team I had a separate network connection which bypassed the corporate firewall and the stupid Exchange server.

I don't blame them for having filtering in place, but at least have the courtesy to tell me what's going on so I can fix it. (If it's even our problem.)
