My general experience with WiFi on Newton:

- never use WEP - just open connection
- use separate AP device (an old AP or router with HIDDEN SSID and on low power - to minimise external interference…)
- manual IP
- 8.8.8.8 as secondary DNS (optional, but useful)

I’ve never used AdHoc mode.
