You are correct Grant. Having recently picked up a series 2 apple watch, i can say the HWR works pretty damn good. It is only one character at a time, but it can handle my sloppy cursive and printing, It’s decent.

The HWR used on the Newton (Rosetta), Mac OS X (Inkwell), and the Apple Watch (Scribble) are all character. Not having tried the Apple Watch version, I can't say whether it has the same intelligent context that Rosetta and Inkwell share.
