[NTLK] Newton 2100 on batteries only freeze with ATA or 3rd party linear cards

My suggestion would be to test the tantalum surface mount capacitors with a capacitance multimeter and verify against the values written on the cases (it appears that there are four on the right and one on the left).
I have had capacitor issues when a circuit board is stored in non ideal temperatures and have had to replace them. While surface mount capacitors are difficult to solder, they are replaceable and inexpensive (30-50 cents is average) I stick with name brands like nichicon or tyco.
It appears that they are 100uf variety (yellow component).
Best Regards,
Elias

What I discover today is that if I work on AA batteries only (new ones, indicator shows me 90%), and I try use ATA memory cards or non-Apple linear memory cards (in this case was 20MB card), my Newton just freeze very bad. Even reset button is not working. The only option is to remove batteries.
