[NTLK] Age of List

I have all NewtonTalk digests since November 2000 in an Outlook personal
folder. Guess you'd need Outlook or some program that can import the Outlook
personal folder format. However, uploading this folder somewhere would be a
huge security issue since these digests contain the E-Mail addresses of the
senders. With almost 20 years of NewtonTalk, this would account for a huge
pile of addresses, and not everybody might be happy if he suddenly finds his
address published in the web.

The last time I have been playing with this was in 2002. Back then I used a
one-mile-long regular expression to parse that stuff and remove the E-Mail
addresses. However, I dimly remember that there were still some IP addresses
in the Message-ID: headers left. No idea if that would still be an issue
today, but it shouldn't be all that difficult to extend the regular
expression by another quarter of a mile so that, in addition to the E-Mail
addresses, it'll also remove everything that looks like an IP address.

Be aware that we still have an online archive at our disposal:

On this page you'll find a link that brings you to our searchable archive,
which quite amazingly has been online for the last two decades and is still
working hunky dory.
