OK, this after image makes me wonder whether those who report green plastic beneath the rubber coating have either (1) a different run of cases not made of black plastic, or (2) the chemical(s) used to remove rubber coating altered the color of the case.

All my Newton 2000Us and 2100s have nothing but black plastic showing through the many places where the rubber long since went AWOL.

(Related query: Do some of us need more things to do? — just a throwaway comment)

curious (and a bit bored),

via cable from low-power MacBook lacking wireless devices,
hence radiating no deadly EMR connectivity: see RadiateNot.Me;
plus powered by non-radiating coaxial DC cable from utility shed
where wall wart* EMR is indetectably far away
                           *standard Apple shielded power supply = less emissions
