Meaning no disrespect to any of those participating in this thread; but perhaps it might be time once again to make the gentle reminder and request to please remove old replies/posts when responding.
This post is very long due to previous replies.
In the old days when I would have used my Newt to read email posts, this would have likely crashed Mail IV or been ignored altogether. Plus it’s just a waste of memory in any device.

However, most of them did use the the default soups unless the package was doing something different (or thought they were such as Action Names although that one did have import and export to the standard names soup). At least the packages I use on a regular basis utilize the standard soups.

Any app/package can access any soup at any time, it was just a matter of if it understood what was in it/compatibility (what frame had what data etc). There isn't any sort of security other than using a different format. Most data was not encrypted and you can read it with any soup reader/explorer. Which was mainly my point, as to why such sharing won't be done these days. It would be too easy for someone to make off with all the data on the device in a format that was easily read.
