[NTLK] Building Einstein in Android Studio

Hi Igor,

That is the problem I got. It has to do with Cmake .I read an article that (I cannot find the source) suggested writing:

brew install ninja
sudo chown -R <YourUserNameGoesHere> /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig

… and without much understanding on the subject, I did it and worked!
** remember to replace <YourUserNameGoesHere> with your own short user name in Mac OS.

Yet the result was very slow, compared to an old working version of Einstein, a very complete (has network) but no sound version:

einstein.05.01.2013.apk

Now playing with the MP2100 that arrived, I can conclude that Einstein performance on Android using the einstein.05.01.2013.apk is Faster than the actual MP2100 I have received. I new that they would arrive, but not that soon.

So on possible future scenario might be, having a physical Newton, with a fast Einstein emulator, and new screen for the size, running behind.

About the NCX error, the same thing has happened to me on Mac version and the Android version I use of Einstein.

I got a little bit past that, but pressing the “Install Package” on the Newton, and then hit cancel.
I did not know how it did the first backup, but it failed to update it on further attempts.

Good Luck!

Martin

I have downloaded the latest source code from GitHub and followed the instructions for Android Studio, however I am receiving a number of errors and am not able to complete the build. Please see the following photo album to see the step by step procedure I followed and the errors I am receiving.

It works quite well and rather fast but I am not able to get the dock to sync data to my Mac via TCP/IP Dock. I followed the instructions and have succeeded in getting courier to connect to the internet and I am able to connect to NCX, however I am not able to see the data on the Newton or install any packages. NCX just says “fetching stores” and sits there for ever until Einstein disconnects. See photos in flicker album.
