NTLK Intel 6 meg card again

I've received a couple replies already saying that the MP120/2.0 can't
work with 5/5 card; the relevant blurb from the FAQ is:

---
b) What sizes and models are suitable for my Newton?

5v/12v cards can be used on all models except eMate 300. 5v/5v cards can
be used on eMate, MP2k and MP130. SRAM cards can be used on all Newtons.
SRAM cards only work if they are 4 MB or
smaller. You need Newton OS 2.x to use flash cards bigger than 4 MB. The
maximum is 32 MB.
Some MP120s with NOS 2.0 could also use 5v/5v cards. But this is not sure
at all.

----

Can someone shed some light about this- is there a set of model numbers or similar to help indicate which MP120's might be capable of 5/5.

I did eventually find the utils to access the Intel series 100 from a Win95 machine- they can be found at http://amber.intel.com/scripts-toolcat/arch.asp?architecture=7 and indicate "utility" for the software type.

At this point, I guess I'll check the card on an IBM using the diagnostics and make sure it is healthy, try it once more on the MP120, then decide that it Really Won't Work :).

Thanks for the emails.

Brian
