For my current insane Newton project, which happens to be building an
all-in-one "breakout box" for the interconnect port, I bought some
miniDIN-8s board-mount connectors from DigiKey for around $CAD 1.30 each.
I'll try to get you the part number later, otherwise I believe they have
an online catalogue at www.digikey.com.
