WARNING!!!! I just went through what you are going through to try out
LunaSuite. I just thought I would tell you how it might end up: CRASHED
NEWTON!!!!
Seriously, I tried LS over the weekend, and spent all of Sunday night
reformating my Newton, restoring what I could, and reinstalling for hours on
end.
I am sorry I can't recall the exact steps to sold the Error 2, but I do
recall getting it. THe solution had to do with the setup. Ah, yes, now I
remember, I think. I think you have to go to the Owner Info card and create
a new setting (ADD). IOW, setting the prefs alone inside of LS is not
enough. YOU have to ADD the protocols, or something like that.
BUT, be warned! If you get it to work...it may crash your Newton. In my
case, I had it running, and was actually bringing up some pages. I was
working with tweaking it. It kept locking up, and then finally, it froze,
and when Newt restarted, it came up with errors left and right, -10606, or
something like that. There was no solution I could find, tried for a couple
of hours to revive my Newt, and finally erase everything.
Gratefully, my Newt is at top notch performance. And now I have complete
backup since I got an extra 6mb card from Paul for only $35. Best $35 I ever
spent. I have always only gone with partial installs prior to this weekend.
Now I have that extra card laying around just for the purpose of backups.
