When traveling, I use a Konnex accoustic coupler with my MP2k+XJA 3288 card
modem. I wouldn't go on the road without it. It works very well, from
virtually any telephone. It's very fast - the speed is indistinguishable
from a direct connection. In Italy it doesn't work because they have a
digital phone system, which is incompatible with analog modems.
