Re: NTLK Sad day...

I'm going to add a"Me, too!" onto this one. For a week now I've been
having problems with my UMP2k. The batteries are fine, and yet it refuses
to turn on, and I have to either remove all power for 10 minutes or hold
down reset for five seconds.

I've got the same problems that you mentioned in 1 and 2, Robert, but I
also want to add another concern:

3) Newton sometimes turns itself on spontaneously, without reason.

and another:

4) Newton seems to be much more susceptible to static electricity,
especially when I touch it around the seam where the two plastic halves
come together - recently I have been giving my poor Newt unintentional
shocks when I reach to pick it up - aack!

All this leads me to the conclusion that there is either a loose power
wire somewhere, or something very wrong with the power switch.

Maybe Dr. Newton can jump in - have you heard of anything like this
before?
