here's an other one:

i just bought a used 16M card for my small companion, but i receive the
message "this card seems to be formatted for an other language, would you
like to update it?" when i tap "uppdate", the newt freezes. its not that it
slows down for a while, the screen freezes.

if i try to tap "cancel", the card seems to be unreliable, at least my newt
has problems with activating installed packages, and information disappears.
sometimes, the icons on the newton disappear, but they ususally come back if
i remove, and then insert the card again. has anyone seen this problem? i
have erased the card five times with no result, it still remains "formatted"
for an other language.

(card description: the card is a no name card, it just says "PCMCIA 16MB
FLASH MEMORY". there is a small drawing if a man (profile) on the right and
the letters "16MB" are written on a green square. the back side sports
warning texts/instructions. the card has no internal battery (at least no
one that you can see or replace). the only moving part is the write protect
slip. if i put it in either PCMCIA slot in my powerbook, the card pops up as
"TS16MFLASH", but i cant even change its name.)

would really need this card, so please help me!
