Dan, it might be that your Lithium battery is going - the little flat
UFO shaped too-big-to-fit-in-a-watch watch type battery in the
battery compartment. Try replacing it and see what happens. - So much
for the power-on problem(s).
For the apple logo - what NOS version do you have? You should have
NOS 2.0 (526205)-1 - the latest. Did your Newton loose that, together
with the time?
