I just don't know. Even though I've used it non-stop (well, almost!) for
ages (well, over a year, anyway!), nothing that I have ever done has made so
much as the slightest impression on the screen.
Apart from the newt's incredibly rugged construction (I've been running
around with it everywhere!), for instance I've been on practical
conservation projects and was using the beast to take notes of the local
flora (inserting little hand-drawn (apple-d) illustrations in case I came
across anything that I couldn't immediately recognise. I briefly forgot the
machine as I returned to the more physical side of our work under the canopy
of the wood, leaving the newt by our refreshment crate in the roasting
sunlight. I returned, during a few minutes coffee break to find the screen
almost hot to the touch and a degree darker than usual but a touch on the
darkness slider brought the text into clear visibility again and no damage
to the display of any kind either aparrent then or afterwards.
