I'm not sure about that. If you want to know what the reply is about, you
have to read the quoted message down. It's not that obvious that placing
your reply at the top would do more good then at the bottom. Certainly not
because you don't have to "wade thru all of what has gone before to get to
the 'new' stuff". Unless it's a very closed or small list, where you can
easily remember which messages were sent, it's very hard to remember on a
list like NewtonTalk what someone is replying to without reading the quoted
material.
