I would have to see the dragondemo license - if there
even is one - it was never released yes?

When a company goes bankrupt all its assets are sold
to pay creditors - including intellectual property
rights.

If you own a newt and pull the hardware to replace
hardware or reconfigure - that is totally legal;
except for the FCC requirements on radio emissions...

I may write an article on abandonware since it is a
waste - and the common law abhors a waste. (That is a
genuine legal maxim). I.e. the common law seeks to
avoid waste where possible: another example of waste
is letting your field unused, letting your house fall
into disrepair - the law won't stop you from
destroying your own assets, but it also won't
encourage you.

Anyway, legally speaking, the rights to the software
should have been sold to pay creditors - since the
ware had no marketable value it wasn't. I would say
practically speaking the better route would be to
contact the software's authors: legally speaking the
rights to the software which has no value should have
been sold to pay the company's creditors.

If the creditors want the rights to the proceeds in
exchange for clearly releasing the source or finished
product or whatever I am happy to help draw up the
legal documents.

Hope this helps.
