I think this is a good analogy, but just because you leave or even abandon
your car, EVERYONE who wants to can start using your car. Say you find a
sweet JAG on the street and it's been there for weeks. You go up and down
the block asking everyone who's it is and no one knows, can you start
driving it? Yes, but NOT legally...
And it is a crime the moment you drive off. Not if you get caught.
