Hmm...

I popped in an Avaya and it was recognized. Did you wait until the newton
was fully up, as in not loading any packages? If you restart the newton with
the wireless card (as I have often experianced...) in the newton, mine tells
me it can't be recognized, but a quick eject then insert and the card is
recognized. HTH!
