Up here in the Vancouver/Vancouver Island/Gulf Islands end of the Pacific
Northwest the same things can be said about Microbrews.
I get mine bottled here at a U-brew here on Saltspring Island. The
proprietor has a number of terrific recipes including a Nut Brown (his
mainstay) - very hopsy. My neighbour and I are going to be brewing a
Trappist ale as an experiment.
Moby's pub here on Salspring serves a Whale Tail Ale, among others.
Some places I can recommend for different taste experiences: Swan's in
Victoria and Longwood Brewpub in Nanaimo (both on Vancouver Island),
SteamWorks (near Gastown) in Vancouver.
And just so this is not completely off topic, if you have a Newton, and a
barrel of poutine ... what's missing?
...you guessed it ;-)
