NO.....
You only depress the button if you are charging the batteries in your
Newton.
if you are charging them externally then the button must not be
depressed. (however if you do not have a power supply for the Newt and
only use batteries then the button will make no difference.)
this said however, I am using and charging high capacity NiMh
batteries in my 110 and have not had any problems in the 6 months or
so that I have been doing it. do this at your own risk!! as it is not
recommended.
